What is Junk Jaunt?
Nebraska’s Junk Jaunt™ is a 300 mile continuous Yard Sale in central Nebraska. Each of 35-40 towns along the route organizes a three-day yard sale. Most towns will have at least one “Central Set-Up” location for vendors. Last year, this fun event drew 20,000 people from 32 states and 70 of 93 Nebraska counties. If you’re looking for bargains, Nebraska’s Junk Jaunt™ is the place to go on . . .

How You Can Help . . .
1. We Need Items To Sell
Sale item suggestions are:
Collectibles/curios, antiques, art, handcrafted items, western collectibles/cowboy tack, farm & household items, sporting goods, gently used or new items, etc. The buyers are many and varied so donated items can cover a wide range.
We CANNOT accept:
• Clothing • Exercise Bikes • Firearms • Computer (CRT) Monitors • Non-Digital TV’s • Furniture that needs more than two persons to carry
How Does Junk Jaunt Help Kamp Kaleo?
The Kamp Kaleo Outdoor Ministries Committee raises money from the sales of donated items sold during the Junk Jaunt. This has become an annual Kamp Kaleo Fundraiser. Last year over $15,000 was raised!
With your help we can have another successful year!

2. Volunteer To Help Organize Items
We are asking your church to organize and provide a Mission Work Team to assist with this major fund raising project for Kamp Kaleo. Work teams are needed in Burwell beginning in August through September to sort and organize items for the sale. Mission Teams/Volunteers are also needed to price items just prior to the sale and to assist during and after the sale. For persons in eastern Nebraska, a collection, sorting and pricing event will also be scheduled in early August in Lincoln.
This fundraiser has grown due to the increased donation of items from so many generous people. In fact, we are expanding to four buildings and will include food service this year. Therefore, this is a wonderful opportunity for our Disciples of Christ and United Church of Christ churches to support Kamp Kaleo.
Missions Teams may schedule to work during the week or for a week-end in August or September by contacting Project Coordinators, Janet Domeier or Ruth Few. Your Work Teams will be able to stay at Kamp Kaleo and enjoy this wonderful camp that we all love.
Please share this request for Mission Teams and Volunteers with appropriate members of your church and prayerfully consider this mission opportunity. We would appreciate your Mission Team commitment by May 31st.
For more information, or to schedule work dates, please contact:
